A much smaller and younger squad than last week saw Warrington get their first points on the board after the win against Southport. After celebrations for Alan Boyle’s MBE at the weekend non other than Samir Tahraoui was tempted into a return to action. He was big when he was a junior, now he is massive! There were also senior team debut’s for Adam Farini and Tom Pye, who both equited themself extremely well and managed to get on the score sheet. Well done lads.
After the first quater the score was 0-0 and Warrington had missed three ‘man up’ opportunities and numeorus good chances. It was looking like it could be one of those nights. At the start of the second Warrington went 0-1 down. Thankfully it just took the team a short while to gel and Tom Hadley settled the team with 3 goals in a minute. More goals from Addison, Samir and James Barker saw the second quater end 10-3 to Warrington. The third quater saw the goals more evenly spread amongst the team with Tom Costello showing Tom Hadley how to score a penalty. Sam Cooper, Adam Farini and David Price also opened their account for the evening. End of the third 19-4 to Warrington. Hatricks in the final quater for David Price and James Barker and goals for Sam Cooper (another lob), Tom Costello, Tim Mainwaring and a goal in the last 5 seconds for Tom Pye rounded off a good night in the end for Warrington.
Next game Chester at home on 25th Feb with Warrington edging it by one goal last year it will be a good test for the team.
