Horwich Swim Clinic

Please see below regarding a Swim Clinic to be held at Horwich LC. Closing date is Monday 22nd December. could any body who is interserted please see Shaun

Dear All

Horwich Leisure Centre ASC is once again proud to present a Swim Clinic hosted by a top international GB Swimmer. This year we are honoured to have Para swimmer Steph Slater.

Up until recently Steph was an able bodied swimmer but nerve damage that affected her left arm has meant that she now competes as a Para swimmer. She is a British and European and World record holder.

The pool session will cover Steph’s strengths of Freestyle and Butterfly and will be demonstrating key skills, kick, speed development, turns and push offs. There will be a Q & A session all together at the end of the day.

We welcome registration from both able bodied and para swimmers but numbers are limited and places will be allocated in order of registration receipt.

Swimmers are asked to arrive at 1.30pm to register and to be split into groups. the day should finish at about 6pm.

Please note that swimmers should be 12yrs or over and be ASA Cat 2 registered.

The Great North Swim

Congratulations go out to, 2 of our swimmers from Warrington Swimming Club who have just competed in the Great North Swim held over the 13th/15th June 2014 at Lake Windermere over the 2 mile circuit , Rick Atkinson did the circuit in a time of 51 minutes 48 secs but was narrowly beaten by Tasha Creswell who did it in 48 minutes 58 secs. Well done to both of our open age swimmers who recently have been doing more distance work during training and it has paid off with Rick coming in 59th place overall and Tasha with an impressive 30th place overall . Message from the Head Coach

Hi All

I would first of all like to thank all the coaching staff who have made my first 6 months very enjoyable indeed and also all team managers, helpers and life guards who have assisted in helping with the club , we have come a long way in just a short time and I believe we are on the right path to gain success in the swimming field.

Also a big thank you to all the swimmers who have competed and those who turn up for all the sessions and put dedication in to their training , we have finished the National Arena League in 7th Place and reach the finals , also the B&D mini league final and now our new challenge is the Merseyside and District Swimming League.

Training starts again on the 2nd of Jan 2014 and I want full discipline and dedication to the training as our goal as a club is to win the M and D , as we are currently lying 2nd after the first gala and the next test is the 18th Jan at Connah’s Quay , were we need a full team to progress in this league.

Again thanks to everyone ,

Merry Christmas and a Successful 2014
