Senior L&D. Chester 10 - 16 Warrington

The senior team continued their league campaign with a trip to Chester university pool to play Chester City. The first challenge was finding the pool in the university campus. Some players cut it really fine but we made the start with only Neil Musgrove unavailable as he had broken down on the motorway. Warrington welcomed back old player Patrick Horgan after his university exploits now as a qualified doctor. New signing Ollie also made his debut.

The first quarter featured goals from Tom Hadley, Andy Burke, Addison Brown and two from Ollie and three goals from Chester saw the quarter finish 3 - 5 to Warrington. Warrington looked rusty in defence especially but this was to improve through the game.

The second quarter had Warrington attacking the shallow end. This was a much closer affair has Warrington still struggled to get to grips with their outside shooters. Goals from Tom Hadley and Addison meant it finished as a 2-2 draw and the overall score still close at 5 - 7.

The third quarter saw Warrington back attacking the deep end. Goals came from Tom Hadley, Addison, Andy Burke and two from James Barker after he found his shooting arm after injury. Warrington restored their advantage winning the quarter 2 - 5, taking the score to 7 - 12 going into the final quarter.

Quarter four featured goals again from Addison, Andy Burke, Tom Hadley and new boy Ollie. Warrington saw the opportunity to change things around and won the quarter 3 - 4. Final score 10 - 16. A good win with a few players taking a beating from the Chester players for their efforts. A physical game not ideal for Tom Hadley’s sun burn left a number of players battered a bruised but it was the win the mattered on onto Port Sunlight at home next week. This puts the senior team on 7 wins and 3 losses with 4 games to play for the season.
