14&u M&D. Tyldesley 2 - 18 Warrington

Tyldesley vs Warrington 14 and Under Manchester and District League Match

1st Quarter

Ben scored on the break.  Dominic scored from a well worked move.  Luke did a long pass to Dominic, who scored to make it 0-3. Luke again was provider, setting up Conor to score with a long pass.  Ben showed good strength to hold of a defender to make the score 0-5 at the end of the quarter. There were a lot of exclusions in the first quarter, 4 for Warrington and 3 for Tyldesley.  Conor was already on 2 exclusions and was moved from defence to play a more attacking role.

2nd Quarter

Conor was on the break from the start and got pulled back. Dominic scored from the resultant penalty.  Warrington were awarded another penalty.  As Dominic was about to take, his dad Larry said he wouldn’t score - wrong - Dominic put in the top corner.   Emma had an attempt saved by the keeper.  Tyldesley hit the bar on an attack.  Ben was then excluded and to our surprise was wrapped up.  It was only his second exclusion.  Tyldesley scored a goal.  They put Warrington under pressure and it was only good defensive work from Katie that saved another chance. Tyldesley pressured the Warrington defence, it was Dan this time that saved them.  Score at the end of the quarter 1-7.

Quarter 3

Conor could again play a more defensive role as he was only marked down as one exclusion.

Dominic scored 2 goals and then showed good strength to get a pass to Conor who scored.  Riley did some great defensive work.  Luke made some good saves.  The score was 1-11 at the end of the quarter.

Quarter 4

Brett scored early in the quarter, followed shortly after by Dominic.  Warrington were awarded a penalty for a foul on Conor, from which Dominic made it a hat trick of penalties.  Conor was on the break and managed to hold off the defender to score with a backhand shot to make it 1-15.  Tyldesley had a player wrapped up with just over 3 minutes of the match remaining.  Alfie tried a long range shot which went over the bar, this was just to get his eye in as he then scores with a great shot in to the top corner. Dominic did an impressive turn and swam in to score.  He was again in the score sheet after a hard long range shot.  With a couple of seconds left of the match left Tyldesley hit the bar and managed to push the ball over the line to make the final score 2-18.

Another good team performance. The newer players did well and are getting more integrated in to the team.
